ADAPTIVE TECHNIQUE TO PHASE ESTIMATION IN PSEUDO-NOISE INFORMATIVE SIGNAL OF DOPPLER RADAR FOR RESCUERS
RÉSUMÉ
Human life is the most important thing in the modern world. For saving lives under natural or man-made catastrophes, a special kind of rescue radar is required. Live human detection behind opaque obstacles can be done by estimation of Doppler phase shifts in reflected radar signals. The breathing and heartbeat processes of living people cause Doppler fluctuations. These phase fluctuations are in ultra-low frequency and can be effectively detected using long pseudo-noise probing signals, for example, based on Mersenne codes. The optimal adaptive technique for the estimation of the signal phase fluctuations to identify the breathing and heartbeat processes of a living person is proposed. Based on the solution of the Fokker-Planck equation, the structure of the optimal tracking filter, which processes the signal in real time, is obtained. A formula for calculating the instantaneous value of the time-dependent amplifier gain in the feedback loop of the tracking filter is derived.
