STUDY ON WATERFLOODING PERFORMANCE IN LOW PERMEABILITY RESERVOIRS USING STREAM-TUBE METHOD
RÉSUMÉ
By considering the threshold pressure gradient, the solution of the stream-tube model is obtained and the performance can be calculated in low permeability reservoirs. Through verification by comparison, the oil rate calculated by the stream-tube method is consistent to the result with the numerical simulation. With the analysis of the dynamic changes of the calculated oil rate, water rate, oil recovery, and sweep efficiency combined with the displacement front, it can be concluded that water breakthrough in the stream tube affects the changes of the performance results. On this basis, the effects of mobility ratio and injector-producer distance on the performance are investigated. The results show that the smaller the mobility ratio is, the slower the injected water spreads, the longer water breakthrough time of the producer, and the bigger the oil recovery in a period of time after breakthrough. With the decrease of the injector-producer distance, the spread of the injected water speeds up; thus water breakthrough time shortens and oil recovery gets bigger after a certain breakthrough time. The results provide theoretical guidance for development and adjustment of waterflooding.
