RÉSUMÉ

John Bourne, Don Spicer and Frank Mayadas organized the birth of this journal some 5 years ago. The intention was to promulgate "wisdom" about innovation in online education. After completing three volumes, we are satisfied that there was a clear need for more knowledge about innovations in our field, both theoretical and practical. We are convinced there is an even greater need today.
We are pleased that readers from over 60 countries in the world have read the journal papers and we thank the authors of those papers for contributing to the International Journal on Innovations in Online Education (IJIOE). We are delighted with the selection of two new editors for IJIOE−John Long and Carol Johnson−who are bringing a set of new directions to the journal that will amplify its mission. We are very grateful to Begell House for funding these formative years of the journal, providing open access, and their work on the look and feel of the journal. We additionally appreciate their support in management of journal operations.
We express our sincerest wishes for success to the incoming editors and to Begell House as they continue to serve the increasing community of online education providers.
