A Model of the Azimuthal Capillary Effect due to Internal Porous Pipe Coating in Stratified Two-Phase Flow
RÉSUMÉ
This paper presents a model for predicting the azimuthal effect produced by a porous coating inside a pipe when an external heat flux is applied. Thanks to this effect, such a porous coating helps to keep the inner surface of the pipe wet above the level of the stratified two-phase flow, enhancing the transference of an external heat flux. The paper also presents experimental results which are in agreement with the theoretical model and reveal some problems related to the use of porous coatings under severe conditions.
