NUMERICAL MODELLING OF LOCAL VOID FRACTION PROFILE IN SUBCOOLED BOILING FLOW AT LOW PRESSURE
pages 1291-1298
RÉSUMÉ
A two-fluid model to predict subcooled boiling flow at low pressure is presented. This study focuses on the comparison between predicted and measured local two-phase flow parameters within an annulus channel. The introduction of the turbulent dispersion has been found to be an important parameter in achieving accurate local void fraction distribution. However, when the local velocities were compared, the predicted velocities showed significant deviation from the observed velocities near the heated wall. Further investigation is needed to understand the phenomenon observed.
