CORRELATING THE VARIATIONS OF SCATTERING MATRIX ELEMENTS AS FUNCTIONS OF MORPHOLOGICAL PARAMETERS
RÉSUMÉ
The scattering matrix elements for coated cylinders and soot agglomerates are presented. The possibility of correlating their variations in terms of simple functions is discussed. The results are presented in the form of gray-scale maps which are then scanned for simple variations of matrix elements with respect to morphology. Possible applications of the measurement of these variations in predicting the particle morphology is given. It is observed that the variation of the scattering matrix elements at certain scattering angles are simple and can be correlated as functions of morphological parameters. Such correlations will be useful in predicting the particle morphology using real-time laser diagnostic techniques.
