ABSTRACT

We establish a density estimator by sampled data from the database of optical flow, which is considered to be a Morse function. We utilize the nudged elastic band method to construct one-dimensional cell complexes from the Morse function. Through a sequence of cell complexes, we discover some topological properties of the database of optical flow created by Roth and Black, and we extend some results obtained by Adams et al. (2015) to the 5 × 5 and 7 × 7 optical flow patches.
