ABSTRACT
A new form, Peridinium volzii Lemm. var. volzii f. complexum Krachmalny (Dinophyta), has been found in water bodies of northern Israel. It differs from the typical form in having a bifurcated apical plate. Results of the comparative morphological analysis and TEM studies of P. volzii var. volzii f. volzii and P. volzii var. volzii f. complexum, their figures, and photomicrographs are presented.
