Assessment of Fish Fauna Taxonomic Diversity and Ecological Characteristics of the Water Bodies in Anthropogenic Landscape in the Western Podillia (Ukraine)

The fish fauna of natural and artificial water bodies of the water bodies in the urbanized territory in the Western Podillya actually comprises 18 species of 4 orders and 3 superorders: Protacanthopterygii, Acanthopterygii, and Ostariophysi. A high degree of similarity of the fishes' species composition in the water bodies of both types was revealed. The ichthyofauna of the considered region comprises mainly native species, and some invasive species. Two species, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine were found in the natural reservoir. The Margalef species richness index (d) and Simpson's dominance index (c) values were somewhat higher in the river as compare to artificial water bodies ponds and soil-reclamation canals, respectively, both Simpson's diversity index (i) and Pielou evenness index (E) values were lower, and, as a result, it demonstrates higher degree of ichthyofauna's stability and diversity in the artificial water bodies. The Shannon's diversity index values were 1.5-2.5, so the ecological conditions in the studied water bodies is at risk state.
