THE FORMATION OF AZIMUTHALLY−POLARIZED TRANSVERSE MODES IN QUASI−OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE TERAHERTZ RESONATORS
RESUMO
Cylindrical vector beams have many applications including electron acceleration, handling materials, a high-resolution metrology, microellipsometry and spectroscopy. In the terahertz range, the methods and approaches for obtaining beams with complex polarization structure are virtually nonexistent. We offer a computational method whereby the reflection and transmission coefficients of azimuthally-symmetric modes for a multi-annular mirror disposed within a metallic circular waveguide have been obtained. With use of HFSS software we have found an optimum mirror structure, which allows reducing significantly the reflection coefficients of non-azimuthally-polarized modes. The obtained results may be useful in the development of new intracavity methods intended for radiation formation with spatially inhomogeneous polarization in terahertz lasers.
