NON-DARCY MIXED CONVECTION INDUCED BY A VERTICAL PLATE IN A DOUBLY STRATIFIED POROUS MEDIUM
RESUMO
This work presents nonsimilarity solutions for mixed convection heat and mass transfer along a vertical plate with uniform and constant wall temperature and concentration in a doubly stratified fluid-saturated porous medium. Non-Darcy assumptions based on the Forchheimer model are invoked in the momentum equations. The nonlinear governing equations and their associated boundary conditions are initially transformed into dimensionless forms and then solved numerically using the Keller-box method. The numerical results are compared and found to be in good agreement with previously published results as special cases of the present investigation. The effects of stratification parameters, Forchheimer number, buoyancy parameter, nonsimilarity variable, Lewis number and mixed convection parameter on dimensionless velocity, temperature, concentration, heat, and mass transfer coefficients are presented graphically.
