Systemic Toxic Dental Sealant-Induced Effect on Nervous Tissue in vitro
RESUMO
The direct influence of materials for the root canal sealing in vitro on cultured nerve tissue sections, in particular the hippocampus slices, was investigated. According to the results of the study, the materials with the minimum toxic effect include resin pins, endopharmaceuticals AH-Plus, and acroseal, and the group with pronounced neurotoxic effects includes materials RealSeal and foredent. By the degree of toxicity, the test materials can be distributed as follows: resin pins < AH-Plus < acroseal < RealSeal < foredent. The results obtained can be used as recommendations to dentists regarding the choice of endohermetics, taking into account their neurotoxic properties in order to prevent unwanted complications.
