RESUMO

Patellofemoral is one of the most common disorders to affect the knee. A frequently used treatment for this condition is patellar taping, because of its potential ability to realign the patella thereby relieving pain and improving quadriceps function. The purpose of this article is to examine the role of patella taping in the treatment of patellofemoral pain syndrome. From the available literature it appears that taping could successfully relieve pain, improve quadriceps function, and bring about a repositioning of the patella within the trochlear groove.
