RESUMO

For the analysis of a large scale industrial stack of blunt in-line flat plates, the use of CFD turbulence models requires very large computing time and computer memory storage. In order to solve this difficulty, correlations for skin friction, heat and mass transfer coefficients on the surfaces of blunt flat plates have been established, based on modified boundary layer theories. The calculated velocity profiles, skin friction, heat and mass transfer coefficients show good agreement with the data measured by previous authors.
