RESUMO
Time resolved PIV measurements were performed in the near wake of a circular cylinder placed close to a moving wall at a Reynolds number of 1500. The flow structure in the cylinder wake can be classified into three regimes, depending on the ratio of wall-cylinder gap G to cylinder diameter D. For G/D ≤ 0.3, pairing between vortices originating in the near-wall shear layer was observed, the power spectra of the velocity in the away-from-wall shear layer had multiple peaks and the Strouhal number of the principal peak deviated significantly from the conventional value of approximately 0.2.
