RESUMO

This work is devoted to numerical modeling of interaction of single liquid droplet with highly stirred flows. The forcing term in Navier-Stokes equation introduces flow conditions similar to homogeneous turbulence, however, a specific length scale related to the droplet diameter is inherent in the generation of stirring force. The behaviour of the droplets is studied, particularly the competition between disrupting effect of surrounding flow and stabilising role of surface tension. The gas-liquid interface is tracked with the use of Level Set method and Ghost Fluid Method approach is employed for surface tension modeling. A specific lenght scale is found for which the highest droplet deformation rate is obtained.
