DENSITY MAXIMUM EFFECT OF DOUBLE-DIFFUSIVE MIXED CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER IN A TWO-SIDED LID-DRIVEN POROUS CAVITY
Краткое описание
In this study, the unsteady laminar double-diffusive mixed convection flow of water in a lid-driven porous cavity near its density maximum has been investigated numerically using the Darcy–Brinkman–Forchheimer model. The resulting governing equations are discretized using the finite volume method together with power law scheme and solved by the SIMPLE algorithm. Numerical simulations have been done using several pertinent dimensionless parameters such as the Richardson number, Darcy number, buoyancy ratio, and the density inversion parameter. It is found that in the forced convection the heat and mass transfer rates increase for the increasing value of Darcy number and decrease for the increasing values of density inversion parameter and buoyancy ratio. But, in the natural and mixed convection, the heat and mass transfer rates decrease to a particular value and then increase steadily for the increasing values of Darcy number, buoyancy ratio, and density inversion parameter.
