Enhancement of Evaporating Heat Transfer in a Horizontal Tube Using Annular Crevices
Краткое описание
Flow boiling heat transfer characteristics in a horizontal tube under a small heat flux are important both for refrigeration equipment and for the recovery of low temperature waste heat. In the present study, five kinds of annular creviced turbulence promoters with unique configurations were produced to improve the evaporation heat transfer in a horizontal tube. Their heat transfer performances were experimentally investigated in comparison with a smooth tube using a horizontal evaporating tube with a visual observatory. Tests were run with CFC-12 with an evaporating temperature of 15°C, a mass flux of 50 kg/m2s and 100 kg/m2s, a heat flux of 3.4 kW/m2 and 6.7 kW/m2, and a quality of 0.1−0.5. The local heat transfer coefficient tended to be an improvement over that of the smooth tube. These kinds of turbulence promoters are effective for boiling heat transfer enhancement under a small heat flux and a low mass flux. The enhancement ratio of the heat transfer was 130 to 170% in the test ranges.
