Predictors of Left Ventricular Myocardial Structural Remodeling in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation
Краткое описание
The content of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in the blood serum was studied as an independent predictor of atrial fibrillation recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation (CRA). 35 patients with long-persistent form of atrial fibrillation (LPAF) lasting more than one year and resistant to drug therapy were examined. For all patients, MMP-9 concentration was measured before the CRA procedure, and its association with arrhythmia recurrence was assessed at the end of postoperative period. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with double enzyme labeled antibodies was used for this purpose. The period of observation was (16.2 ± 5.7) months, and in 12 (34.3%) patients, there was arrhythmia relapse after the ablation procedure. The basal content of MMP-9 was higher in patients with relapsing arrhythmia (261.3 ± 35.3 versus (202.46 ± 27.6) ng/ml in control (P < 0.05)). Multivariate analysis showed that indicators such as MMP-9 content, the history of atrial fibrillation, and the left atrium diameter were independent predictors of arrhythmia recurrence.
