ESTIMATION OF THE GAS BLOWING EFFECT ON CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER IN LAMINAR AND TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYERS
RESUMO
Systematic numerical solutions to the equations for a two-dimensional laminar−turbulent boundary layer on a permeable hemispherical surface obtained using a modified algebraic turbulence model are presented. A new engineering method is proposed for calculating the effect of blocking the convective heat transfer by blowing gas into the boundary layer. The results predicted by this method are compared with those obtained by previously derived formulas.
